National Certificate for Door Supervisors Units 1 & 2

Q;-Who needs this qualification??

A;- Anyone who is intending to apply for an SIA badge.

Q;-What is an SIA badge??

A;- Under the Terms of the Private Security Industry Act 2001, after March 2006 , anyone working in a Security role must have obtained this badge from the Security Industry Authority (SIA).

Q;- How do I get an SIA badge for me?

A;- After completing this course successfully , you apply directly to the SIA (cost ?245), (this normally takes 6-8 weeks)

Q;- How long is the course?

A;- 4 days overall, split into 2 units of 2 days each. Normally starting at 10am and finishing no later than 5pm each day.

Q;- I haven’t been in a classroom for 20 years, is it difficult??

A;- The trainers are all past hands-on operators who will talk to you in real life practical terms.

Q;- What topics does the course cover?

A;- All legal aspects of the new act, what your responsibilities are, how to apply for your SIA badge , what powers you & others have, dealing with young people, drugs, licensing law. Lots of practical examples of how to handle situations… much more details on the website www.liveandlearnuk.com

Q;-Who needs this qualification??

A;- Anyone who is intending to apply for a Personal Licence.

Q;-What is a Personal licence??

A;- After the well publicised changes in the licensing laws in November 2005, anyone who is intending to run a licensed premises OR who is in a position to train other people to sell alcohol on their behalf MUST have one.

Q;- Who issues them ??

A;- After completing this course successfully, and obtaining a Criminal Records Bureau check (about ?25) you apply to your local council licensing dept.

Q;- How long is the course?

A;- One day 8.30am -5pm

Q;- I haven’t been in a classroom for 20 years, is it difficult??

A;- The trainers are all past hands-on operators who will talk to you in real life practical terms.

Q;- What topics does the course cover ??
